Description
The SR-11 deck was a console version of the RC-11 with a R-11 transport and a 901-A amplifier.
The console was designed for ease of access: the top panel containing the R-11 transport swung upwards on a sturdy hinge to expose the underside of the tape mechanism, while the amplifier opened from the front and turned over on gimbals to expose the tubes. The power supply was located at the base of the console.
Features included push-button solenoid operation allowing remote control, dynamic braking, rheostat-adjustable fast forward and rewind and a simplified threading path with easy editing access.
Price when new was $995.
