Description

A half-track mono single speed (Mk 40 3¾ ips and Mk 42 7½ ips)
recorder from Germany, sold in the UK by the Perth company. A deck-only
version was also available, designated MC 40 and MC 42.
This model was similar to the earlier Mk 4 Saja and featured a 3-digit tape position indicator, magic eye recording level and all-valve circuitry.
Output of the MK 40 series was two watts into a forward-facing oval speaker.
