Description

The Minitape M-8 was a development od the earlier S.H. Minitape machines. Featuring all-transistor circuitry and a rechargeable 12.5 V Ni-Cd battery, the recorder had separate record and playback heads and amplifiers, allowing full off-tape monitoring. To save current drain, no erase oscillator was incorporated, but a permanent magnet was installed to allow erasure during fast rewind.
No VU meter or magic eye was required as the record level was automatically set in conjunction wit a high or low microphone attenuation switch for nearby or distant sound sources.
