Description
Uher claimed this to be the first home recorder in the world to operate without a pressure roller.
Something called the ‘Omega’ looping system and motionless tape tension regulators guaranteed ‘unparalleled’ wow and flutter. The SG 630 LOGIC had three drive motors and one servo-drive motor with a computer-controlled tape transport mechanism. All electronic components were mounted on plug-in boards (quite new and innovative for the time) and tape-heads were of the long-life, plug-in, inter-changeable type (two-track or four-track stereo).
Other features included a stroboscope disc for fine-tune speed adjustment, peak level limiter, fade-over regulator and A/B stereo monitoring.
