Description
The TRE company (Tape Recorders Electronics Ltd) began life in 1953. Their first recorder was the ‘Editor’, one of the earliest and most commercially successful British-made portable domestic recorders.
When the Collaro company developed their reversible Mk IV ‘Transcriptor’ tape deck in 1957, TRE were among the first to use it, both the A20 and A19 (Sound 777) models were fitted with the Collaro Mk IV.
The Sound A20 was a half-track, three-speed 7″ reel capacity mono recorder with reversible recording and playback.
