at a moderate price”, was catch-phrase in Allied Electronics 1969
catalog.
A solid state quarter-track stereo tape deck
with long-life deep-gap heads, three speeds (7½ , 3¾ and 1
ips), auto-shut-off, dual-capstan drive, sound-on-sound, sound with sound,
echo and a 7″ reel capacity.
Two VU meters were provided for record level
monitoring and other features included a 3-digit position indicator and
automatic tape lifters.
Transport functions were controlled by push-buttons
seen on the left hand side of the deck and the unit had “a full array
of inputs and outputs.”
