Description

The model 1450 was very
similar to the 750 tape deck, being a fully
solid state stereophonic 3-head tape deck. The major difference was that
this one featured automatic threading, automatic reversing, automatic
replay and sound with sound (the 750 had sound on sound.)
4 “deep-gap” heads were employed, as was a dual-capstan drive
system, 3 playing speeds and flutter and wow figures of less than .15%
@ 7½ ips.
From the 1969 Allied Electronics catalog, price when new US$299.00.
Additional images of this recorder are supplied on the Get Reel Contemporary
Classics CD-ROM.
