Description
The Varicord and Varicord Stereo had been around for a few years by the time the 263 appeared. Interchangeable head assemblies permitted half or quarter-track stereo recording and playback. The internal amplifiers gave a 6 watts per channel output. Other features included three tape speeds (7½ , 3¾ and 1 7/8 ips), horizontal or vertical operation, single VU meter, single motor, 7″ reel capacity and input mixing.
