Description

The half track Akai 400D Pro with separate transport and preamplifier seems to be about as rare as the Akai  Pro 1000. These two models were somewhat less rare in Japan but Akai really didn’t have the same support/ marketing networks to compete with the more successful brands of studio or broadcast machines. Teac in their early efforts were but quicker on the uptake with the development of the Tascam division.

No doubt specifications on this machine, which are hard to find, would be better than the various other 4 Track versions GX-400DSS and the GX-400D 

If anyone has a service manual or original printed specifications, please submit them.
