The X165D was a single motor deck and was not released in an amplified version. It utilized Akai’s Cross Field head system for recording and had 3 speeds.
Features included auto stop/shut off switch, three mode equalizer switch, three digit tape counter, twin illuminated VU meters and separate left and right line in level knobs, allowing input mixing.
