Description
Featured in the 1969 Allied
Radio Corp catalogue the TR-1040 was a quarter-track stereo machine taking
7″ reels and offering three capstan-drive speeds: 7½ , 3¾ and 1
ips. Two large VU meters were provided for record level indication
and a large single knob function switch on the right just below the take-up
reel took care of all tape transport operations.
An internal stereo amp drove the two detachable speakers which closed
to form the recorder’s cover.
