Description
Evolving from the 900 series, the 1250, 1260 and 1270 were all single motor, two speed recorders with three “precision” heads built to Ampex’s usual professional standards and performance. Some of the advertised features were: “… exact tape tracking with improved tape guidance system. new selective erase head for monophonic flexibility with sound-on-sound. Two automatic shut-off positions for unattended recording or playback, automatic take-up, master selector switch, built in mixer with two mic/two line inputs and a single recording level meter that reads both channels by switching.
