Description

The Baird Varsity 101 was a low-cost, three speed quarter-track mono recorder constructed around the BSR TD10 deck. It featured a single motor and a 7″ reel capacity with hybrid electronics. the preamplifier was solid-state with the remainder of the circuitry using tubes.
Other features included separate bass and treble controls for playback, mixing of inputs using separate gain controls, superimposition, 3.5 watt output, outputs for external amplifier and speaker and magic eye level indicator.
