Description

Made by Bell Sound Systems,
Columbus Ohio, this single speed (7½ ips) dual track recorder featured
a neon recording level indicator and an internal speaker.
The maximum claimed frequency response was 70
– 8kHz (3db).
All the controls were grouped on the front panel
along with the 6″ internal heavy-duty speaker which automatically
disconnected when an external one was used.
Power output was 3.5 watts and maximum reel
size was 7 inches.
Price when new  US$124.32 (from a 1951
Allied Radio Co. catalog).
A 3-speed model was released in 1953, the RT-65-B
Re-Cord-O-fone (see additional images).
