Description
Of the relatively small number of tape recorders that Braun produced, the TG 60 is the one that has caught the eye of aesthetic designers. Dieter Rams created all the designs for all the Braun tape recorders. As a result the prices of this tape deck are fairly high.
Wolfgang Hasselbach, in a paper during the pre-production phase of the TG 60 said “lt was planned as a good machine that fitted into the Braun concept, comparing competitive machines. ‘Of course we had a look at the large Telefunken studio machine M 5, which was driven by three motors, had an open tape segment, was fitted with three heads and an exchangeable headblock. We also had a close look at the Revox 36, we admired its technology. And in this phase we were not impressed by low-priced amateur models developed by Grundig and others.
The TG 60 wall system
A vertical assembly which could be mounted on the wall. The control unit TS 45, tape recorder TG 60 and loudspeakers (L 450 series) placed to the right-hand and to the left-hand completes the series.
