Description

The TD2 Monardeck (sometimes called Monarch) was the second version of the simple, single-speed (3¾ ips ) deck from Birmingham Sound Reproducers (BSR) . The first TD1 was released in 1959.
Both had a maximum spool size of 5¾ inches, a single motor, two heads and retailed for £12 12s.
Many small manufacturers used these decks for their own recorders, some of the more notable models were

B&O Belcanto,  Elizabethan Popular series,  Fidelity Argyll, Major and Playmaster, Sound Prince, Riviera Slimline and recorders from Wyndsor, Baird, Alba, HMV and Bush to name just a few.
