Description

The first recorder from Fidelity was the half-track mono Argyll with a BSR TD1 deck. The Argyll had a single speed of 3¾ ips and could accommodate 5¾ .-inch spools. Output was 4 watts through a 7 x 4-inch forward-facing internal speaker.
Features included straight-through amplifier, erase cut-out switch for superimposing (sound on sound), magic eye record level indicator, and inputs for mic and radio/pick up (mixable).
Price when new was £30 9s. including crystal microphone.
