Description
Manufacturer’s description: Suitable for both stereo and mono recording and playback. Operates on the four-track system, all transistor. Facilities for “Multiplay” recordings. The EL 3534 was one of Philips first totally solid state recorders and therefore quite light (36lb).
Two built-in 3 watt amplifiers powered two speakers were fitted, one in the front of the case and the other in the detachable lid with a 20ft cable. An unusual feature was the inclusion of four tape speeds, 15/16, 1 7/8, 3¾ and 7½ ips.
