The portable RC-7 deck was first made in 1950. Available over a 5-year time span with a variety of amplifiers, the deck featured three heads, three motors and the ability to handle 10½ inch reels (with special RA-1 adaptors, pictured at left).
Heavy duty construction was used throughout and the high-quality precision engineering made this machine rugged and extremely reliable in the field.
Price when new was around $425. Extras included the RA-1 10½” reel adaptors ($39) and the A-920 amplifier ($324).
