Description
The PYE Cambridge 9137 was made in Austria and was a re-badged Philips N4407 with three speeds: 1 7/8, 3¾ and 7½ ips and a maximum reel size of 7 inches.
A 4-track stereo recorder, the 9137 allowed ‘Duo-play’ and ‘Multiplay’ – (fancy terms for sound-with-sound and sound-on-sound) as well as automatic stop and mixing facilities during recording.
Totally solid state, the 9137 had two internal 6″ x 4″ elliptical speakers driven by a 4 watts per channel stereo amplifier.
