Description
The T-100, 200, 500 and 600 were some of Revere’s earliest recorders. Introduced in 1949, they were still being listed as late as 1955.
These were single speed (3¾ ips model T-100 & 200, 1 7/8 ips model 500 & 600) half-track mono recorders with two heads and a single motor. Models T-200 & 600 had in-built AM radios. The panel and controls were fairly spartan and functional.
The large knob at the front left controlled transport functions:
rewind, stop, play and record when the record safety button was pressed.
A separate fast forward lever sat next to it on the right. Rewind
of a 600ft tape took approximately 60 seconds and a foot control could
also be used to start or stop the machine.
A dual concentric knob was at the front right, the outer ring functioning
as a tone control with the inner being the power switch and volume control.
Recording level was displayed by means of a neon lamp which can be seen
at the back between the reels.
Tape footage indicator was printed onto the deck-plate
