The Sony TC-765 was a quarter-track consumer version of the semi-professional half-track TC 766-2 and, as such, did not have the high speed of 15 ips. Speeds
on the TC 765 were 3¾ & 7½ ips.
Features included three heads, three motors, logic control, closed-loop
dual-capstan drive with AC servo control and an option remote control
Switching was provided for selecting low, medium and high bias, and different
tape types, normal, special, FeCr etc.
