Description
A medium-priced quarter-track
stereo tape recorder with 2 x 6 watt power output and two inbuilt 4″
x 7″ speakers. A single 2-pole asynchronous motor provided all the
transport functions with the single ‘joystick’ control operation. It was
equipped with separate record and playback heads but not with the crossfield
bias system.
Features included three speeds, (7½ , 3¾ , and 1
ips), reel locks for vertical operation, automatic stop, sound on sound
facilities, separate treble and bass controls and inputs for mic, radio
and turntable. Two moving-coil VU meters were supplied for record level
setting and the unit came in either teak or rosewood cabinet.
