Description

In most other respects, the 9100X was similar to the 9000X. It was a a stereo tape deck available in either half-track (9121X) or quarter-track (9141X) versions with three speeds, three motors, a seven-inch reel capacity, four heads (erase, record, playback and crossfield bias) and a frequency response of 30 – 22 000 Hz at 7½ ips.

The 9100X was a logical development from the 9000X, the changes were as follows:
An extra set of input faders allowing stereo mic/line input mixing
Front panel sound-on-sound facility
Re-designed input amplifiers
Balanced microphone inputs
New pushbutton EDIT/CUE switch next to the speed switch allowing audible cuing while in STOP mode
Twin “T” filter oscillator
Lower amplifier distortion
Motherboard with 7 plug-in boards to accommodate the additional electronics
Prices when new (UK) in 1974:
9121X (half-track) and 9141X (quarter0track) both £292.59
Optional dust cover:
£5.28
Optional carrying case £14.17
Remote control unit: £35.55
