Description

The first of the new all solid-state M-200 series from Telefunken was the single-speed M-201. It was a quarter-track mono recorder with a single induction-type motor and could accommodate reels up to 7″ in diameter. Automatic end of tape stop was achieved by placing metallic foils at each end of
the tape. Features included 1.25″ VU meter, parallel tracking (see test report below for a more detailed description of this function), DIN socket inputs & outputs and a 2.4 watt audio output.
