Description

The M 501 was a low-cost single-speed mono recorder with a maximum reel size of 5¾ . inches. It was particularly noteworthy because it was fabricated almost entirely from modern plastics.
Physically, the layout was clean and functional: a row of five positive piano keys at the front left controlled transport functions ( fast rewind, play, fast forward, stop, and lastly, record in red). next to these was the track select slide switch and a pause control. On the right were a pair of wheel-like knobs, the first had a dual purpose – record gain and playback tone andthe other on-off and playback volume,
