Additional Details

Description

The Sonet Duo was first developed in 1959, a direct derivation of the single speed Sonet. It had two speeds (3¾ and 1 7/8 ips), a digital tape counter and push-button switching of input connections. The biggest criticisms against the Sonet Duo was that it was quite heavy and that it could only handle a  maximum reel size of 5″ (eventually addressed with the later Sonet B3). Nevertheless, this machine was still selling well in Europe in 1966.
