Description

Shortly after World War II, the well-established and diverse Czech electronics industry was united into one state-owned company, Tesla. The Sonet was first developed in 1958, and was a basic single speed, half-track mono machine (3¾ ips) with a magic eye level indicator, headphones socket and a very robust transport mechanism. This mechanical system was characterised humorously in Germany as ‘a tape recorder for wood-cutters’ !
The Sonet was developed into the Sonet Duo in 1959.
