Whilst clearing out my late husband's garage, I stumbled upon this vintage TEAC reel-to-reel tape recorder! If you are an Audiophile It's a piece of his passion for audio, now ready to find a new home where it can be cherished once again. With its classic charm and nostalgic allure, this TEAC unit is a testament to the enduring appeal of analog sound. He did leave me a note before he passed away that if I had to sell it I should say "Fully working, one of the channels is a bit quiet so may need a good clean and re-alignment. I dont think there is any cables in the box to check so you would need to provide these. Many thanks for watching. Buyer collects from local storage as it is heavy. Lynn

Description

Teac’s special new R&D group TASCAM (TEAC Audio Systems Corp America.) was established in 1970 for the purpose of researching ways to apply TEAC’s recording technology for musicians and recording studios. They realized that ‘quadraphonic’ might not be the next big thing, but the 4-track technology might be very well suited for the home recording, and released this recorder in 1972.
This was the forerunner to the A 3340S which had modified eq and bias circuits to reflect the improvements in tape quality. Otherwise, specs and characteristics very similar to the model A 3340S.
