Teac Reel to Reel Tape Recorders

Company Description

Teac produced reel to reel tape recorders from 1966 to 1991 which were manufactured in the Japan. These tape recorders targeted the semi-pro, consumer and studio market. Teac tape recorders used solid state electronics. The company produced 2 and 4 track reel to reel machines with 110-120 voltages for the North American market as well as 220 to 240v for the European tape recorder enthusiasts.

There seems to be a fair bit of duplication on the Teac history story and it seemed best at this point to put forth a variety of links to some of the better efforts to capture the interesting story. Perhaps we will build out a more definitive history, when more unique information becomes available.
