MINT condition had only one owner, my grandfather purchased this system new. I'm hoping to give it a new life with a enthousiast who will enjoy the system as it should be. There is also a switch to set it from on to timer, I think this was added by the audio shop back in the day. In many ways, one of the more inspired Teac offerings of the mid-late 70s, this recorder was very similar to the A 4300 but had a 10½ inch reel capacity. The engineering in this deck showed greater levels of inspiration than they would be offering a few years later. The 6300 is a single direction record, bi-directional playback deck with four heads and three motors. Other features included an index counter repeat for replaying a particular section automatically, bias and EQ switches for normal or high-output/low noise tape and record lock-out switches and dual-scale VU meters. An interesting touch were guide rings on the controls which enabled settings to be marked for later reference.

Description

Big and heavy compared to other 4-track auto reverse NAB decks from Revox or Teac A3300 series R2R’s.  Excellent reliability, robust construction and excellent parts availability.  A great deck for someone who wants to dip the toes in the 10-1/2″ NAB deck pool.
