MINT condition had only one owner, my grandfather purchased this system new. I'm hoping to give it a new life with a enthousiast who will enjoy the system as it should be enjoyed. I've seen these go on ebay in worse condition for 2300-2500 so I feel this is a fair price. The X-2000 evolved from the X-1000R, with improvements in almost every aspect. It is one of the better recorders made by Teac and is highly sought after on the second hand market, fetching up to $1000 or more for mint condition examples. Three models/variants were produced: X-2000: quarter-track, three heads and three motors. 7½ ips and 3¾ ips. X-2000R: as above but with six heads for bi-directional record/playback. X-2000M: half track stereo, 15 and 7½ ips – ‘M’ standing for ‘Master’. Features included inbuilt dbx noise reduction system, Cobalt heads, EE tape compatibility, a computer driven COMPUMATIC search system: 5 digit real time length counter, automatic search counter or cue position, block repeat and more.
