Radio Corp catalogue the TR-1080 was an auto-reversing, four-track stereo
machine taking 7″ reels and offering three (equalised) capstan-drive
speeds: 7½ , 3¾ and 1
ips.
Tape transport operations were solenoid controlled and each channel had
its own volume control.
An internal stereo amp drove the two detachable speakers which closed
to form the recorder’s cover.
