Description
The P60 was a professional, portable, three-head three-motor full-track mono recorder available in rack (ACX) or case (AC) versions
Reel capacity was 10½ inches and tape speeds were 7½ and 15 ips. Speed change was electrical and start/stop was almost instantaneous (0.1 seconds)
Tape lifters were used to lift tape from heads when rewinding or fast forwarding.
The heads were triple-shielded to reduce cross-talk and hum, and could be removed or aligned separately
Control of transport functions (forward, stop, rewind & hi-speed) was by means of interlocked pushbuttons and could be controlled remotely.
Other features included high impedance microphone and unbalanced bridge inputs, 4″ VU meter showing bias, record level and playback, NARTB equalisation, manual and electric cueing, deep slot loading and solenoid brake control.
