Description

The MP-2 was described by the maker as ‘a basic tape recorder and pre-amp in a portable case designed for use in hi-fi systems’. The tape mechanism featured a ‘Uni-Magic’ single lever control, dual-track heads with removable pole pieces and a push/pull speed change lever. The preamplifier provided basic functions including record, erase and bias, plus enough output to drive an amplifier. Other features included a large VU meter, tape speed equalisation selector, inputs for microphone and radio/phono and a volume control.
